However, we were working in Dad's garage and he didn't think that covering the Corvette in glitter was a good idea... and after some thought, he was probably right. ;)
So I let my dreams of glittering everything I saw fade away... UNTIL there was talk of redecorating the living room. I decided then and there that I would find a little woodland creature and make it sparkle.
She turned out pretty didn't she? And it was beyond easy. Messy, but easy.
Tools:
Woodland creature of choice. {I got the bunny from the thrift store for $1.}
Glitter of your choice... I think silver would be pretty too... hmm, maybe the bunny needs a friend. ;)
Elmer's glue
Bowl
Paint brush
Newspaper or trash bags to cover your work space {and cover it well... I'm still finding glitter!}
I did this in sections, as you can see. I started with the body and painted it with glue - you don't need a ton of glue, the glitter will stick to ANYTHING. Just make sure you cover it. Start pouring glitter over it, shaking and moving it around to be sure to cover all the parts of the creature {or whatever you're glittering}. I suppose you could then let that section dry so it would be easier to hold onto while doing the other parts. But I was too impatient and did the whole thing at once... I had glue and glitter all over.
But it was worth it.
I absolutely love how it turned out.
There are a few spots that still need touched up. But other than that... this was a super easy and adorable little project. And it cost about $3...
We also spray painted a goose. He's purple now...
Ohhh the fun you can have with spray paint and glitter.
Happy Tuesday, kittens!

What a great idea! I did this with pumpkins for the Fall, but never thought of doing it with other things!! Brilliant! I'm a new Follower :)
What a lovely makeover! I really love how it came out!
Thank you! Loved how it turned out! And pumpkins... that's genius... that's WAY better than carving them! ;)
Thank you! Me too!
